Position overview
The Bureau's asset management system underpins the effective lifecycle management of a diverse and geographically dispersed portfolio of critical infrastructure and equipment. The Asset Management Technical Developer will play a key role in the ongoing development, enhancement, and technical support of the Bureau's Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system, primarily focusing on IBM Maximo and Maximo Mobile platforms.
With extensive experience in Maximo development and configuration, the Asset Management Technical Developer will be responsible for designing and implementing technical solutions that improve asset management processes and system functionality. This includes customising applications, automations, escalations, and reports to meet evolving business requirements and support operational teams across the organisation.
The successful candidate will contribute to the continuous improvement of Maximo by troubleshooting issues, managing product fixes in partnership with vendors, and ensuring the system remains robust and aligned with best practices. A strong focus will be placed on enabling the organisation's adoption of asset management solutions through the provision of technical coaching, training, and clear documentation.
As a technical specialist, the Asset Management Technical Developer will collaborate closely with asset owners, subject matter experts, and vendors to ensure that Maximo solutions support strategic asset management goals. The role also involves active participation in system upgrades, testing and integration activities to deliver enhancements that drive efficiency, data integrity, and informed decision-making.
While initially focused on the Bureau's observing network assets portfolio, this role has the potential to expand to support a wider range of asset classes including property, ICT, and software assets, helping the organisation strengthen its asset management culture and capability across all business areas.
