Job Summary
AUS TRUCK & TRAILER REPAIRS PTY LTD is seeking experienced Diesel Motor Mechanics to maintain, test and repair diesel motors as well as other mechanical parts of trucks such as transmissions, suspension, steering and brakes.
Responsibilities
* Maintain, test and repair diesel motors and mechanical parts of trucks.
* Diagnose faults and repair or replace defective parts.
* Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates.
* Detect and diagnose faults in engines and parts.
* Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and check parts.
* Repair and replace worn and defective parts and reassemble mechanical components, referring to service manuals as needed.
* Reassemble engines and parts after being repaired.
* Test and adjust mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance, diagnose and test parts with the assistance of computers.
* Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness.
* Obtain Victorian roadworthy certificate authority licence after hiring.
Qualifications
* Must have a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
* Experience as a Diesel Mechanic, working with heavy vehicles and in the transport industry.
* Minimum 2-3 years of diesel mechanic experience with heavy vehicles.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem‐solving skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high‐quality workmanship.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Sound knowledge of relevant safety regulations and best practices.
* Austrian work rights are required for this position.
* Knowledge and use of service manuals.
* Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
* Victoria Roadworthy Certificate Authority Licence.
