Security Advisor - Governance (Australian Citizenship Required)
Reporting to the Team Lead - Security Governance & Risk, the role provides advice, awareness, and assurance that Commonwealth and our client security policy requirements are met throughout the business.
Position Context
Reporting to the Team Lead - Security Governance & Risk, the role provides advice, awareness, and assurance that Commonwealth and our client security policy requirements are met throughout the business.
Key Duties
* Provide guidance on Defence security requirements across functions
* Ensure compliance with DSPF, PSPF, ISM, and DISP membership obligations
* Maintain and update CMS security documents
* Build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Communicate and support the organisation's security policy vision
* Develop strong knowledge of the Security Classification Categorisation Guide (SCCG)
* Provide support to the Security Operations team as required
Essential Requirements
* Professional qualification in a relevant field
* Eligibility for AGSVA Negative Vetting Level 1
* Eligibility to meet ITAR regulations
Essential Skills & Experience
* Minimum 2 years' experience in Defence or similar environments
* Strong understanding of Defence and Australian Government security policies
* Practical knowledge of Defence security disciplines
* Experience in compliance, assurance, and governance frameworks
* In‑depth knowledge of DISP and/or Defence security
