Henschke Catholic Primary School caters for K-6 Students and is the largest Co-Education Catholic Primary school in Wagga Wagga. Located on top of the hill in Bourke Street, we are proud of our strong traditions and foundations. We have grown from modest beginnings to our current enrolment of just under 600 students and have many plans for the future development and growth of our school.

Your New Role
The role of the School Chaplain/Student Wellbeing Officer is to:
* Provide support for the holistic wellbeing of students
* Help to foster positive key interpersonal relationships within the school (inc. student-staff, student-student, and home-staff)
* Liaise with community service organisations when required
* Create opportunities for the social and emotional development of students.
* Enhance student engagement with the parish and broader community.
* Support pastoral care initiatives as requested.

Essential Criteria
* Meet the NSCP's minimum qualification requirements (a Certificate IV in Youth Work or Pastoral Care (or equivalent) which must include competencies (or equivalent) in 'mental health' and 'making appropriate referrals').
* Demonstrate Christian values when engaging with children, parents, staff and the general public.
* Demonstrate the ability to perform the role as outlined by the National School Wellbeing Program.
* Have an understanding of childhood development and the issues pertinent to children/young people.
* Have the confidence, ability and experience to communicate and work with children/young people.
* Implement a student focused approach when working with key stakeholders.
* Demonstrate the ability to work consistently and positively within a team.
* Ensure that timely records are maintained on the service provided to the school
* Current NSW Working With Children Check
* Successful Candidate to Undergo a National Criminal History Check
* Accreditation for Support Staff in a Catholic School (Category A, Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools, Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga) or willing to achieve.
