About The Opportunity
Join the South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) as a Nurse Manager and play a key role in transforming patient and staff experiences by providing visionary leadership within the Operations and Performance team. In this dynamic position, you’ll be responsible for inspiring, motivating, and supporting clinical teams to deliver compassionate, high-quality care in line with the SWSLHD’s strategic vision of "Leading Care, Healthier Communities." You’ll collaborate with Clinical Directors and work across operational, corporate, and clinical leaders to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and efficient services. By fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, you’ll guide the development of innovative care models, support clinical outcomes, and drive ongoing operational assessments. What You'll Be Doing
As part of the Operations and Performance leadership team at SWSLHD you will bring vision and clarity to your role, be a great communicator, self directed, with an ability to inspire, motivate and support people to reach their full potential. You will support the SWSLHD Transforming Your Experience strategy to provide an exceptional experience for everyone who interacts with our organization for the provision of safe, high quality care.
Reporting to the Associate Director Clinical Operations, and partnering with Clinical Directors, Cancer and Medical Imaging Clinical Streams this role works collaboratively with all levels of operational, corporate and clinical leaders to ensure that the ultimate goal of safe compassionate care for patients of SWSLHD is achieved. The role will provide guidance and strategic direction for the specialties in the relevant clinical streams to ensure that there is a focus on service development and appropriate oversight of practices, trends and indicators. Ongoing assessment and improvement in operational processes and clinical outcomes is an inherent responsibility of this position. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the supervision, coordination and management of the specialty services and/or operations to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources. The Nurse Manager is to foster and maintain close professional relationships with relevant clinical managers, peers and District managers to achieve organisational goals. As a nursing senior manager it is essential to ensure that systems and processes are in place to support the Nursing/Midwifery Unit Managers to meet the standards outlined in the Nursing and Midwifery management Framework. This position will support the SWSLHD Strategic Plan as well as the facility/service operational and/or clinical service plan and any relevant service operational or strategic plans. * Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
* Cancer Services is finalising a Cancer Implementation Plan where access to care is a priority. What is your understanding of the role of the Clinical Manager have in ensuring equal access to cancer services within SWS?
* Describe your experience leading complex services across a large health district or network, including service redesign, governance, data-driven improvement, and multidisciplinary collaboration in a setting with competing priorities.
* Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
