Key Responsibilities

· Provide clear, timely advice to clients on political, legislative, and regulatory developments.
· Monitor parliamentary, policy, and media activity, identifying risks and opportunities relevant to client objectives.
· Build and maintain relationships with advisers, departmental officials, and key stakeholders.
· Support client meetings with political offices and government departments, including preparing briefs and follow‑up actions.
· Draft high‑quality submissions, briefing notes, stakeholder engagement materials, and policy content.
· Assist in the delivery of advocacy campaigns, events, and parliamentary engagement activities.
· Manage elements of client accounts, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
· Support and collaborate with Associates, providing guidance and informal mentoring where appropriate.
Qualifications and Experience
· Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, law, or a related field.
· Approximately 2–4 years' experience in government relations, public policy, politics, or a related field.
· Demonstrated experience supporting advocacy or government engagement activities.
· Strong understanding of the Australian political and policy environment, particularly at the federal level.
· Ability to engage professionally with government officials and stakeholders.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
· Well‑organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities.
· Interest in developing client relationships and contributing to the growth of a boutique consultancy.
What We Offer

· Canberra‑based role with some flexibility in working arrangements.
· Exposure to a diverse and interesting client portfolio.
· Clear development pathway toward Senior Consultant level.
· Opportunity to work closely with experienced senior practitioners.
· Supportive, collaborative, and high‑performance work culture.
About You
· Confident, credible, and capable of engaging at the highest levels of government and industry.
· Strategic thinker who can see the big picture but also drive detail where needed.
· Entrepreneurial and motivated by the opportunity to help grow a boutique consultancy.
· Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
