**Role Description**
Carer Support Services (CSS) often supports carers by purchasing services and/or goods that will contribute to the goals set by the carer to support their caring role. These are delivered by a number of service providers located throughout the Loddon Mallee and Melton regions that carry out work that CSS cannot perform but remains responsible for.
Purchasing of services/goods to support carers requires compliance with funding guidelines, internal Bendigo Health processes and best practice financial management. This position will align with each of these requirements.
The Purchasing Officer will work with service providers to ensure they meet the obligations of their contract by:
- Reviewing and approving raised purchase orders
- Operating as the key CSS contact with service providers
- Monitoring service provider performance
- Supporting the financial requirements of the purchased service
The role will work closely with Team Leaders, Office Manager and department quality representatives.
This role requires Monday to Friday availability in a part time capacity.

The Community and Public Health Services Division has a primary focus on improving the health outcomes of the communities in our region.
