About The Role
We are seeking a highly capable and technically astute Product Owner to join our agile delivery teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a SAFe-aligned environment and is passionate about driving the delivery of high-quality technical solutions. As a Technical Product Owner, you will own the team backlog, shape the technical direction of the product, and ensure alignment between business goals and system capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and manage the team backlog, prioritising features, enablers, and technical debt to maximise value delivery.
* Represent the team during PI Planning and collaborate with Product Management to align on priorities and dependencies.
* Write clear, concise user stories and enabler stories with robust acceptance criteria, including non-functional and architectural requirements.
* Review completed stories to ensure they meet acceptance criteria and technical standards before accepting them into the increment.
* Collaborate with architects, developers, and designers to assess technical feasibility and guide solution design.
* Act as a key liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into business value.
* Champion the importance of addressing technical debt and platform improvements alongside feature delivery.

* Backlog Management and Prioritisation: Proven ability to balance competing priorities, including technical enablers, refactoring, and feature development.
* SAFe & SCRUM Expertise: Deep understanding of Agile ceremonies and artefacts, including PI Planning, Sprint Planning, and Retrospectives.
* User Story & Enabler Creation: Skilled in writing technical stories that support the architectural runway and future scalability.
* Story Acceptance: Accountable for ensuring delivered work meets defined acceptance criteria and aligns with technical expectations.
Technical Acumen
* System and Architectural Understanding: Strong grasp of system components, APIs, integrations, and data structures.
* Technical Feasibility Assessment: Ability to evaluate proposed features for technical viability and sustainability.
* Understanding Technical Debt: Able to articulate the value of technical maintenance and refactoring to non-technical stakeholders.
Soft Skills & Collaboration
* Stakeholder Communication: Adept at translating technical concepts into business language and vice versa.
* Collaboration and Negotiation: Skilled in aligning cross-functional teams on priorities and resolving conflicts constructively.

Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
* Agile certifications such as SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or equivalent are highly desirable.
