The Clinical Neuropsychologist is based within the Outpatient program at Ravenhall Correctional Centre. Forensicare delivers comprehensive forensic mental health (FMH) services at the Ravenhall Correctional Centre, as a sub-contractor to the GEO group. The FMH services comprises of a bed-based service for 75 prisoners and a large outpatients program. The Clinical Neuropsychologist provides high level consultation, advice and support to Forensicare clinicians, GEO Prison and Clinical staff, and Correct Care Australasia staff on complex neuropsychological matters. As the Senior Neuropsychologist, you will: Provide specialist neuropsychology assessment, and consultation to address the mental health needs of patients. Identify the presence of cognitive impairment (related to acquired brain injury-ABI, intellectual disability-ID, neurodevelopmental disorders, dementia, severe medical conditions, or mental illness) in clients with significant mental health impairments. Recommend treatment and management strategies to facilitate treatment planning and delivery of mental health interventions to patients of FMH services. Complete transition and discharge documentation describing neuropsychology involvement and any recommendations. About You / Qualifications

Masters or Doctoral qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology from an APS accredited course or equivalent. Registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Previous working experience in a forensic mental health service would be an advantage. Knowledge in clinical forensic psychology including forensic assessments (i.e., court ordered assessments, assessment of risk for violence) and intervention with offenders and/or forensic patients. Sound theoretical knowledge of clinical neuropsychology including neuropsychological assessment, neurology, neuropathology and neurobiology, and interventions in acquired brain injury, mental health and alcohol and substance use disorders. Extensive knowledge of the current psychological approaches in working with mentally disordered patients in the forensic mental health setting.
