We are seeking a hands‑on professional to deliver and manage all financial duties associated with the organisation, with strong multitasking capability and the proven ability to competently handle unexpected matters as they arise.

About you
* You have a minimum of 3 years' local experience in a similar finance or accounting role, with hands‑on responsibility for accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, and reconciliations.
* You possess a strong understanding of Australian financial practices, including BAS preparation, payroll support, and compliance requirements.
* You are highly organised and detail-focused, with proven ability to manage month‑end processes, reporting deadlines, and competing priorities.
* You are confident liaising with internal stakeholders and external parties such as accountants, auditors, and suppliers.
* You take a proactive, flexible approach to work, supporting broader administrative functions while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting the end-to-end accounting cycle, including:
1. Issue client invoices on a timely basis.
2. Actively participate in the client invoicing process.
3. Process supplier invoices ensuring those are properly authorised and in accordance with Hodgkison policies.
4. Weekly reporting including creditors, debtors, and cash position.
5. Prepare all balance sheet reconciliations.
6. Maintain master file for creditors and debtors.
7. Process general journals as necessary.
8. Follow up with outstanding debtors.
9. Allocate debtor receipts.
10. Ensure related entity loan accounts balance out.
11. Ensure consulting revenues and expenses balance out on monthly basis.
12. Quarterly BAS Reconciliations and Lodgment.
13. Monthly PAYG Lodgment with ATO.
14. Monthly remittance of Superannuation.
* Assistance in preparing the Management reports for the Board.
* Provision of financial information to the Accountants and the Directors as required.
* Assistance in preparing the Annual Budget and revised forecasts.
* Provide support in processing the fortnightly payroll.
* Attend to bank matters as necessary.
* Attend to Office and Business Insurances including Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance, including yearly proposal forms and renewals.
* Provide guidance to the organisation on financial issues as they arise.
* Provide internal project finance support to Architectural and design staff.
* Assistance in internal project finance support to Architectural and design staff.
* Assistance leasing arrangements in place throughout the Business and its entities.
* Support Managing Director, Business Manager, and Company Accountant on an ongoing basis.
Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years of local experience in a similar finance or accounting role.
* Tertiary qualification in Accounting desirable, minimum Diploma in Business/Finance.
* Previous experience with and working knowledge of accounting software (preferably Reckon).
* Ability to work autonomously.
* Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
* Experience ensuring work complies with relevant government legislation, policies, and procedures.
