FINANCE MANAGER

Position Overview
The Finance Manager is a key leadership role responsible for the financial management, administration, and day-to-day office operations of Treloar Civil and Quarries Pty Ltd and associated entities including; Treloar Maintenance & Engineering Pty Ltd & Dig This Pty Ltd.
This position ensures accurate financial reporting, strong cashflow management, compliance with statutory obligations, and efficient office systems to support civil construction, quarrying, transport and plant hire operations.
The role works closely with senior management, project supervisors, and external accountants to ensure the business operates efficiently, profitably, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
· Manage day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
· Prepare monthly management reports including:
o Profit & Loss statements
o Balance sheets
o Cashflow forecasts
o Job and project cost tracking
· Assist management with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
· Oversee debtor management and credit control
· Liaise with external accountants, auditors and financial institutions
Payroll & Compliance
· Oversee the processing of weekly payroll including:
o Timesheets
o Awards, EBAs and site allowances
o Superannuation and PAYG
· Ensure compliance with:
o Fair Work obligations
o Superannuation and payroll tax requirements
o BAS, IAS and ATO reporting
· Maintain employee records and onboarding documentation
Office & Administration Management
· Manage day-to-day office operations and administration staff (if applicable)
· Develop and maintain efficient office systems and procedures
· Oversee document control, filing systems and records management
· Coordinate insurance policies including:
o Plant and equipment
o Vehicles and heavy transport
o Public liability and workers compensation
· Manage supplier accounts and service contracts
· Project & Operations Support
· Support project managers and supervisors with:
o Job costing and financial tracking
o Purchase orders and cost allocation
o Invoicing and progress claims
· Assist with tender preparation including financial schedules and rates
· Monitor plant hire, fuel usage, maintenance costs and quarry production data
· Provide financial insight to assist operational decision-making
Systems & Process Improvement
· Manage and maintain accounting and payroll software (e.g. WIISE, Xero, Keypay etc)
· Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting accuracy and internal controls
· Implement best-practice financial and administrative processes
· Support digital transformation of office and site-based reporting systems
Key Skills & Experience
Essential
· Proven experience in a finance, accounts or office management role
· Strong understanding of:
o Accounting principles
o Payroll processing
o Cashflow management
· Experience in construction, civil, quarrying, transport or plant hire industries (highly regarded)
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail
· Strong organisational and time management skills
· Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
Desirable
· Formal qualification in accounting, finance or business administration
· Experience with job costing and project-based accounting
· Familiarity with civil construction awards and EBAs
· Experience managing or supervising administrative staff
