**Where you'll be working**
Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. **What you'll be doing**
- The Aboriginal Mental Health Clinical Lead Coordinates and supervises the Djirruwang Graduate Trainee Programme and oversees the development of an Aboriginal Mental Health Workforce in WSLHD-Mental Health Service. The role will provide consultancy, clinical supervision and leadership, support the development of culturally appropriate mental health services, and provide input into planning and provision of mental health services for Aboriginal people in WSLHD.

The Aboriginal Clinical Lead manages the Aboriginal Mental Health staff to support the provision of culturally appropriate mental health care to the Aboriginal People in WSLHD.

**Please note**: To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency.

**Essential Requirements**:

- This is an **identified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander position** and the applicant should be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent (pursuant to Section 14 (d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act NSW 1977).
Qualification: Graduate Degree in Social Work or Occupational Therapy or Psychology or Djirruwang Program Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health).
- For Nurse Unit Manager: Relevant postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualification relevant to the field in which he/she is appointed or equivalent work experience or combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by WSLHD.
- Registration: Current full Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, or a Psychologist or an Occupational Therapist. Social Worker should have eligibility to be a member of AASW.

**Selection Criteria**:

- This is an identified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander position and the applicant should be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent (pursuant to Section 14 (d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act NSW 1977).
- Demonstrated tertiary qualifications as stated under Essential Requirement and clinical and management experience in the mental health field. Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and as a member of a mental health multidisciplinary team, working within scope of role at all times including ability to plan and prioritise own workload.
- Demonstrated competence working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities, preferably in Western Sydney, with a strong working knowledge and understanding of the variety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, cultures and social and emotional health and well-being issues and how these impact on the community and its members.
