About the Opportunity
The Maintenance Officer will report to the Service Manager and will be responsible for on‐going repairs and preventative maintenance of building, plant, equipment, gardening and furniture. They will also assist with identifying and actioning health and safety issues to provide a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors. The main purpose of this role is to ensure the safety and upkeep of the Aged Care Facility by undertaking a variety of maintenance tasks in a timely and highly competent manner.
- Responsible for on‐going repairs and preventative maintenance of building, plant, equipment and furniture.
- Maintain gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas to a high standard, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming outdoor environment for residents, visitors and staff.
- Perform routine gardening duties including mowing, pruning, planting, weeding, mulching, fertilising and irrigation maintenance.
- Liaising with contractors.
- Identifying and reporting areas for improvement.
- Assist with identifying and actioning health and safety issues to provide a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors.

- Previous maintenance experience—trade background/qualifications preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience in aged care or hotel environment would be advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and as part of the local team.
- Proficient computer skills; prior experience working with a computer‐based maintenance system will be advantageous.
- Working knowledge of Work Health and Safety standards and regulatory maintenance frameworks relating to residential aged care.
Requirements for Application
- A current Police Record Check.
- Trade‐based qualification or more than 3 years' experience in a commercial maintenance position.
- Current driver's licence.
