The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our Bendigo site. This is a hands‑on leadership role supporting a busy and diverse municipal contract that covers cardboard, general waste, EPA/biosecurity waste, and liquid collections.
You will lead a team of over 20 drivers, alongside other support teams, to keep operations safe, compliant, efficient, and customer‑focused.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise operations and be accountable for the performance of day‑to‑day operational activities.
* Train, mentor, and motivate operations staff to maintain high‑performance standards and promote a culture of safety and teamwork.
* Prepare operational reports, performance metrics, and other documentation as required.
* Conduct daily pre‑starts, safety briefings, and toolbox talks to keep the team informed and focused on safety and compliance.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational optimisation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
* Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations and company policies and procedures.
About You
* Prior experience in a similar supervisory role within the waste or logistics industries is desirable.
* Heavy rigid (HR) driver's licence is preferred but not essential.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, coach, and motivate a diverse team in a fast‑paced, complex operations environment.
* Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills, with a hands‑on approach to resolving operational challenges.
* Strong commitment to safety and compliance, with experience conducting safety briefings and managing incident reports.
* Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage with team members and handle customer inquiries professionally.
