Empower aged care from anywhere.
We're seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Enrolled Nurse (EN) to join our growing virtual health team, supporting the delivery of remote medical care to residents across aged care facilities. This admin-focused role is perfect for ENs who excel in documentation, coordination, and clinical communication — and are ready to put those strengths to work in a tech-enabled, home-based setting.
As a Telehealth GP Assistant, you'll attend virtual consultations with General Practitioners, assist with digital documentation, and act as a key liaison between aged care staff and medical teams. Your precision and proactive follow-through will directly contribute to improved health outcomes and resident wellbeing — all without being facility-based.
We aim to provide local support staff wherever possible. Where local staff are available, this role will be delivered onsite; otherwise, duties will be performed via telehealth. GP service delivery may also vary depending on location, with onsite GP attendance typically every 4–6 weeks where a local doctor is not available.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Preparation
• Review resident records, care plans, pathology results, and observations prior to consult
• Liaise with facility staff to gather relevant handover information
Telehealth Consultation Support
• Join GPs for virtual rounds and assist with clinical note-taking and administrative coordination, ensuring all actions are carried out under GP direction and strictly within the Enrolled Nurse scope of practice (no prescribing or medication charting)
• Support clear communication between GPs and aged care teams
Documentation & Follow-Up
• Update Electronic Medical Records accurately and ensure timely documentation of consultations
• Coordinate follow-up care and ensure directives are actioned (e.g., medication updates, family communication, specialist referrals)
Clinical Escalation & Advocacy
• Use sound clinical judgment to flag urgent issues or changes in condition
• Champion resident-centred care with dignity and empathy
Digital Navigation
• Confidently work across systems including My Health Record, scheduling tools, and Electronic Medical Records (training provided)
About You
• Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse
• Minimum 2+ years experience in aged care, primary care, or general practice
• Strong knowledge of chronic disease management, care planning, and medication protocols
• Clear communicator with excellent attention to detail and clinical judgment
• Comfortable with technology and adaptable to remote workflows
• Familiar with aged care standards, escalation protocols, and care coordination frameworks
• Calm under pressure, proactive in navigating care complexities, and committed to resident advocacy
• Passionate about improving aged care outcomes through innovation and teamwork
What We Offer
• Structured onboarding and 6-week training led by experienced nurse mentors
• Flexible work model — remote with potential onsite support depending on location
• Growth opportunities within a forward-thinking virtual care team
• Supportive team culture grounded in dignity, accountability, and collaboration
• A chance to reshape aged care delivery from the inside out
This is a documentation-driven, coordination-focused role with minimal hands-on care — and maximum opportunity to advocate for residents behind the scenes.
Your precision supports timely treatment, your follow-up drives safer care, and your voice helps ensure older Australians receive dignity-led, responsive support.
If you thrive in clinical admin and system-driven care environments, this is your moment to make a lasting impact.
