Waste Water Services (WWS) Full-Time | FIFO/DIDO + Perth Based | Plumbing

Waste Water Services (WWS) is a growing WA water infrastructure company delivering turnkey potable water systems, sewage treatment plants, pump stations, chemical dosing systems, fire pump sets, and specialist hydraulic installations across the Pilbara and regional Western Australia. We are seeking an experienced Industrial Plumber with strong technical capability and the professionalism to represent WWS onsite with Tier-1 clients, including Water Corporation, Rio Tinto and BHP.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys solving complex hydraulic and mechanical challenges, and wants to work within a high-performing team delivering critical infrastructure projects.

About the Role

Reporting to the Leading Hand – Plumbing, the successful candidate will work across a mix of workshop, Perth metro Water Corporation sites, and remote mining projects. Approx. 60% of the role will be away work (FIFO/DIDO) and 40% Perth-based.

You will undertake installation, maintenance, and commissioning works across potable water systems, sewage treatment plants, pump stations, chemical dosing skids, and associated mechanical and piping infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities


• Install, repair and maintain potable water systems (Media filtration, Reverse Osmosis, booster pumpsets), steel tanks with liners, sewer rising mains, sewage treatment plants pump stations, chemical dosing systems, fire pump sets, and LV/HV washdown systems.


• Replace and upgrade large valves in sewer mains, including isolation, bypassing, and recommissioning.


• Carry out plumbing works on Water Corporation assets in line with standards, processes and safety requirements.


• Interpret PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams) and P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) for installation and troubleshooting.


• Assemble, install and test industrial pipelines (PVC, HDPE, stainless steel, and galvanised pipework).


• Support installation and commissioning of sewage treatment plants, potable water treatment plants, and industrial process skids.


• Perform pressure testing, leak rectification, pump alignment checks, flow verification, and basic instrumentation troubleshooting.


• Work safely in restricted access areas, confined spaces, and around mobile plant and electrical equipment.


• Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades to deliver projects on time and to WWS quality standards.


• Maintain accurate records, checklists, ITPs, and close-out documentation on Asana

Required Experience & Skills

Essential:


• Minimum 8 years' experience in industrial or mining plumbing, mechanical services, or water/wastewater infrastructure.


• Demonstrated experience with:

o Potable water systems

o Sewer rising mains and pump stations

o Wastewater treatment plants

o Chemical dosing systems

o Fire pump sets

o LV/HV washdown systems


• Experience replacing or maintaining large valves (knife gate, butterfly, plug valves, etc.) in sewer and water mains.


• Water Corporation experience (or Tier-1 water utility equivalent).


• Competent understanding of:

o Fluid transfer and pump operation

o Siphoning, priming, and cavitation

o Water hammer and surge effects

o Mixing and unsteady flow behaviour


• Ability to read and interpret PFDs and P&IDs.


• Strong safety awareness, understanding of hazard identification, isolation procedures, and confined space requirements.

Desirable:


• Poly welding (electrofusion)


• uPVC sch 80 piping – solvent welding


• Working knowledge of fluid transfer concepts (gravity overflow, siphoning, water hammer)


• Experience in commissioning mechanical systems


• Working knowledge of instrumentation (flow, level, pressure sensors)

Qualifications


• WA Plumbing Licence (mandatory)


• Construction White Card


• Confined Space Entry (advantageous)


• Working at Heights (advantageous)


• Gas Test Atmospheres (advantageous)


• High Risk Work licences (desirable)


• Valid manual driver's licence
