Transport Volunteer – Mansfield VIC
Join Australian Red Cross as a Transport Volunteer. This role involves driving a Red Cross vehicle to transport older and vulnerable people to non‐urgent medical appointments, social outings and essential errands.
Availability
Business hours, 1 day per week/fortnight.
Commitment
* Weekday volunteering using Red Cross vehicles, requiring a valid Australian driver's licence.
* Regular rostered shifts.
* Participation in mandatory training and e‐learning modules (approximately 1 hour per month).
* Ongoing long‐term position.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate vehicles to transport clients individually or in small groups locally and regionally.
* Use mobile applications to support safe and timely service delivery.
* Provide a safe, courteous, and respectful transport experience.
* Assist with placing light mobility aids (approx. 10‐12 kg) in the vehicle boot.
* Engage in appropriate conversation and activities with clients.
* Respect privacy, rights and dignity of clients, maintaining confidentiality.
* Record timely documentation of client interactions.
* Maintain professional boundaries to safeguard client and volunteer wellbeing.
* Participate in ongoing learning and development to keep skills current.
* Uphold the Aged Care Code of Conduct and related updates.
* Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and ensure inclusive, discrimination‐free interactions.
Application Requirements
* National Police Check (to be arranged through Red Cross).
* Full Australian driver's licence with an excellent driving record.
* Statutory Declaration if you have been a citizen or permanent resident of a country other than Australia after turning 16.
