We're looking for a passionate Community Development Officer to join our team for 1 day per week to help us create strong, inclusive communities where everyone has access to safe, quality housing and a sense of belonging.

Role Overview
As the Community Development Officer, you will foster community development activities in accordance with CHL's Community Development Framework at the eastern housing estates, primarily Croydon and Wantirna. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on collaboration, values diversity, and wants to contribute to a world without housing poverty.
Key Responsibilities
* Engage with local communities to develop initiatives based on their ideas, ensuring community ownership
* Establish and maintain effective partnerships with local community organisations and weekly activities, such as community garden groups
* Manage community development projects from start to finish
* Build and maintain strong partnerships with government agencies, community organisations, research bodies, and businesses
* Promote our Community Development Framework internally and externally
* Collaborate with colleagues and participate in our peer support network
About You
You're a natural connector with a passion for social impact and community engagement. You bring creativity, resilience, and strong organisational skills to everything you do.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
* Strong community networks and relationship-building skills
* Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly within complex and diverse conversational contexts
* High-level administration and coordination skills with excellent time management
* Commitment to housing rights and social inclusion
* Current Driver's Licence
* Satisfactory Police Check and Working With Children Check
Please note that a satisfactory police check is required for all staff and those with client related responsibilities are required to provide a NDIS and Working with Vulnerable People Check (WWVP).
