To service our expanding pipeline of automotive after-market products, we are looking for a skilful Mechanical Design Engineer who will, actively contribute to the ongoing design and development of Narva/VisionX and Projecta products including forward and rear lighting and our battery management portfolios.
A strong communicator, you will work collaboratively with the broader Product Solutions and Industrial design teams (locally & globally), key external stakeholders (Suppliers, Manufacturers and Customers) to undertake ground-up design and step changes to existing products.
Though your demonstrated design experience, you will help bring products to life by evolving design concepts into detailed 3D CAD models and production ready parts. Naturally inquisitive, you can ideate your designs to solve customer problems. A typical day will see you;
* Mechanical engineering & Product design
Lead DFMEA's in conjunction with Quality Department
Manage Product testing including product approvals with suppliers and third-party international/local testing houses (TUV and SGS etc.)
* Supplier Management – pilot production/production sign offs
* Work collaboratively with Category and Marketing to ensure marketing material for print and packaging meets requirements
* Developing SOP for production with suppliers and QA department
This role involves occasional interstate and overseas travel to visit suppliers and customers, attend trade shows, visit end users, regional sales teams and the like as required.

• Bachelor's degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical discipline (essential).
• Demonstrated background and experience with design of electronics for manufacture
• SolidWorks 3D CAD modelling, implementing DFMA methodology specializing in plastic injection moulding, aluminium die casting and aluminium extrusions design would be highly regarded
• Experienced in Solidworks 3D CAD modelling, as well as 2D CAD engineering drawing preparation with GD&T.
• Possess excellent communication skills- both written and verbal, with an approachable and engaging style
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and strong attention to detail
• Creative mindset with a strong willingness to learn
