The Anglican Parish of Wynyard seeks a friendly, creative minister to serve its warm and welcoming community in Tasmania. The parish is deeply rooted in the local area, with many members involved in service clubs, community groups, and volunteering. The church maintains a visible presence in Wynyard through its prominent building and the witness of its people.
The congregation is predominantly older, but values intergenerational fellowship. A key priority is deepening discipleship, which involves equipping members for growth in their faith. This includes creating opportunities for Bible study, prayer, and outreach activities.
To reach younger generations, the parish is exploring new initiatives, such as a regular Board Games Group at the local primary school. This has been put on hold, but plans are underway for renewal. We are also assessing how best to re-launch our down-to-earth Sunday afternoon congregation, which was launched in 2022 to reach those without church connections.
We value diversity and inclusion, and are committed to cultivating a healing church culture that welcomes everyone. Key priorities include strengthening community visibility, developing new leaders, and fostering a sense of belonging among our members.
