About the Role
The Youth Justice Senior Clinician is a member of the multidisciplinary YCTT, and provides specialist mental health assessment, treatment and support for young persons and their families involved with the Youth Justice system. In addition, the role has a community development and networking role which includes consultation and advice to Dandenong Youth Justice.
This role is part of the Victorian Youth Justice Mental Health Program, which includes six of these roles across the state in different regions (South East, East, North West, Forensicare, Goulburn Valley and Victorian Aboriginal Health Service). The role is supported by the coordinator of the Youth Justice Mental Health Program at Forensicare and the clinician is required to attend Forensicare once a month for training and program development.
This full-time ongoing role is open to multiple disciplines: RPN 4 | OT 4 | SW 4 | SP 4
About You
You are dedicated and passionate about youth mental health. You enjoy working with people who face complex issues and have a strong commitment to family inclusive practice. You have great skills in care coordination, family work and therapeutic, evidence-based interventions. You are have a resilient personality and you are a person who lives our iCARE values of integrity, compassion, accountability, respect and excellence. We are looking for someone with:
* Qualifications and relevant registrations in at least one of the following: Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Nursing or Speech Pathology.
* Capacity to work independently and within a team
* A friendly and professional attitude
* Excellent engagement, relationship and therapeutic skills.
* Resilience and strong work ethics
* Mental Health Clinician
* Experience in working with young people in a forensic mental health setting desirable
* Post registration experience in mental health
