About The Opportunity
Fairfield Hospital are seeking an enthusiastic, eager and driven Paediatric Nurse to join their highly skilled and dedicated team as the Clinical Nurse Consultant for Paediatrics.
This is an exciting and rare opportunity to join the Fairfield Hospital Paediatric Services team as they begin the process of a re-development.
Fairfield Hospital currently has a 12 bed Paediatric Ward, Paediatric Ambulatory Care Service, outpatient clinics and supports the Emergency Department where required. This position will allow the successful applicant to provide education, leadership and clinical expertise throughout the facility and the opportunity to be involved in current and future research.
The CNC for paediatrics will work closely with the multidisciplinary team across a number of departments, in order to improve the care provided to paediatric patients.

What You'll Be Doing
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) Peadiatrics is an expert practitioner who, through leadership facilitates evidence based practice. The CNC will promote a service which fosters clinical excellence, research and professional leadership. The CNC contributes to quality health care by collaborating with the health care providers and consumer groups, developing clinical practice standards and evaluating their outcomes. The CNC is responsible for providing services which facilitate effective management of the care in Paediatrics.
The Paediatric CNC provides clinical support and guidance to Paediatric wards and Emergency units in South Western Sydney Local Health District. The position is responsible for the implementation or NSW Child Health initiatives and policies to ensure standardization of care pathways and treatment modalities across the District

* Current Authority to Practice as a Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). At least 7 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 5 years full time equivalent experience in Paediatrics. Approved post graduate nursing qualifications in a field relevant to Paediatrics or such other qualifications deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
