About the role
The Librarian plays a crucial role in supporting the branch team with day-to-day operations, ensuring that library services are accessible and meet the needs of the community. This position involves supervising staff, coordinating activities, and providing quality customer service while promoting library resources and programs.
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Degree in Library Science or a related field, or substantial experience in a similar role.
- Proficient in using library software, online databases, and digital resources.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
- Proven track record in delivering customer-centric services and fostering positive relationships with the community.

Other important information
- The commencing salary for this position is up to $1,230.89 per week. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $1,479.65 per week on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation
- We have a temporary part-time role available
- Work 112 hours over a 4-week rostering cycle
- Shifts ranging from 8:15am to 8:15pm, with one weekend shift per 4-week cycle
- This role is located at the Gosford Regional Library
Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
