About the role
Colourpatch CBT Cafe Pty Ltd, a vibrant cafe in the heart of Augusta, Western Australia, is seeking experienced Sous Chef and Kitchen Staff to join our talented culinary team. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise and be a part of a agile, customer-focused establishment.
What you'll be doing
1. Assisting the Head Chef in the preparation and cooking of high-quality meals
2. Overseeing kitchen operations and staff in the absence of the Head Chef
3. Ensuring consistent food quality, presentation and compliance with health and safety standards
4. Participating in the creation of new menu items and the refinement of existing dishes
5. Monitoring inventory and liaising with suppliers to maintain adequate stock levels
6. Providing training and mentorship to junior kitchen staff
7. Contributing to a positive, collaborative team environment
What we're looking for
1. Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry
2. Strong culinary skills and a passion for creating delicious, visually appealing dishes
3. Excellent time management and organisational abilities to multitask and prioritise tasks
4. Proven track record of leading and motivating a kitchen team
5. Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control standards
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
