We are in the process of uplifting and re-innovating our digital platforms. As part of this exciting new Greenfield project, you will design and build a modern digital experience from scratch at Australia's largest bank. This undertaking will see you use your design and technical leadership capabilities to directly reach and enhance the digital lives of over 9 million Commbank customers every day.

You will be part of the technology leadership team of FCO Reimagined crew in Financial Crime Operations domain. As a Principal Software Engineer for our crew, you'll partner with stakeholders to design overall tech direction, advise and influence on technologies and complex integration strategies, and AI enablement. In this role, you will support the crew to deliver an ambitious vision against our customer objectives: to create enduring technology differentiation with unmatched digital experiences built on decoupled, resilient, and reliable technology foundations.

We're interested in hearing from people who:
* Possesses full-cycle engineering experience: ideation, technical design, build, testing (unit, integration, system), release, and ongoing maintenance.
* Provides overall engineering leadership for the platform including software, systems, quality and site reliability.
* Can Influence the future of the company's technology estate every day
* Can create a culture focussed on accelerating the adoption of new and emerging technologies
* Have knowledge of or experience in enterprise Gen AI and agentic AI tools
* Have demonstrated ability to evaluate emerging AI tools and integrate them into engineering workflows
* Have proficiency in agile development methodologies and iterative experimentation from ideation to prototype to pilot to product
* Have ability to design technology solutions to meet the highest possible quality standards while simultaneously balancing security, performance, availability, and maintainability concerns.
* Are well versed with solution architecture, technology blueprints, engineering roadmaps, and translating the project vision into actionable plans.
Tech Skills:
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:
* Frontend - React, Typescript,
* Backend - .NET Core, C#,, GraphQL
* Cloud - AWS (Preferred)
* Databases - SQL, NoSQL
* CI/CD tools - GitHub, GitHub Actions, Terraform Enterprise, Artefactory
* Observability - Open Telemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Observe, CloudWatch
* Security - Vault, Security Management, Parameter Store, AWS Certificate Manager, AWS Secrets Manager
* Any experience with the following would be highly advantageous.
o Experience with AI/ML and Gen AI applications and how they can enhance software engineering processes to improve productivity
o Experience building RAGs using LlamaIndex, LangChain, or similar frameworks
o Experience building Agentic AI systems using AutoGen, SemanticKernel, Pydantic, or similar frameworks is preferred
