About the Role
This key role in the Primary Mental Health team will provide psychiatric nursing services to the patient population at Port Phillip Prison. You will be responsible for patient treatment, management, assessment and ongoing reviews, crisis assessment, development of risk management plans and engaging the patient in the development of their mental health recovery plans including referrals to other service needs, discharge planning and liaison with external stakeholders.
Classifications for the RPN position will range from NP81 - NP74 ($51.08 - $56.73 per hour + 25% casual loading).

You will bring demonstrated psychiatric nursing experience to the role and hold a post graduate qualification in Mental Health. You are a team player with exceptional communication skills which will allow you to direct and encourage a multidisciplinary team.
Required Qualifications
* Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Nursing that meets the requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Current Police Check, or willingness to obtain

About St Vincent's Correctional Health Service (SVCHS)
SVCHS at Port Phillip Prison (PPP) has 20 subacute inpatient beds, providing primary mental health care to persons in custody at Port Phillip Prison, Laverton. Port Phillip Prison is situated 20 km West of Melbourne. St. John's inpatient unit is a 20 bed subacute medical ward providing a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. On site services include, haemodialysis, palliative care, complex wound management, day oncology treatments, post-surgical/early discharge care, infectious disease management and rehabilitation programmes.
