Your Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Cargill Agriculture Supply Chain (CASC), Grain Operations team as a Regional Operations Manager for our QLD/NNSW Grain Storage and Handling Facilities. The role reports directly to the Operations Lead and you will be an integral member of the Grain Operations Management team
You will drive a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, accountability and ownership across our grain handling and storage facilities. You will drive our key performance metrics as set by the business through our operational excellence model, Risk Management being Health and Food Safety, Productivity, Reliability, Capital Effectiveness & Talent Management. Drive and promote our Quality Management System through implementation and compliance to operational procedures, best practices and people development. Ensure we can deliver on the functional plan and commercial expectations of the business.
You will have a proven track record in Operational leadership and will preferably have experience in Grain operations and you will lead a high performing team for the QLD/NSW region and bring in your superior leadership skills, people management and conflict management skills to develop positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Management for the region including - compliance to safety standards and goals, Food safety standards; goals and Inventory Management;
Driving competitive excellence and continuous improvement culture across the region. Ensure highly efficient site operations with a view to general operational expenses, labour management, energy reduction and grain quality control including shrink management;
You will have a commercial focus ensuring our farmer and end user customer requirements are top of priority and that we are operationally ready to service their demand
Contributing to the development and implementation of the Annual Reliability Strategy for all sites within the region;
Lead talent management for the region, including operational training programs, engagement survey improvement, performance development plans, etc.;
Lead and manage the regional capital management program (CAPEX). Ensure there is a focus on delivering projects safely, on time and in budget;
Contributing to the development and implementation of the Functional Plan and Strategy for the storage and handling network with a focus on operational excellence.
All about you
With a background in operations management ideally within Agriculture / Supply Chain / Engineering / Mining industries, you will have:
Minimum 5 years' experience in managing operations; Ability to provide superior leadership to remote teams; Excellent analytical and decision making skills; Resilience to cope with and manage change; Excellent problem solving and project management skills; Ability to administer operational training on Operational Work Instructions; Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and proactively manage conflicting priorities; Intermediate to advanced ability in MS-Office Suite;
Qualifications and other requirements Tertiary qualifications in business management, agricultural science, supply chain or a related discipline will be well regarded;
Experience in grain operations will be a strong advantage; The position will require flexibility and travel to the Grain operations sites; A valid Driver's License is a requirement for the role.
