Job Summary
This senior leadership role is responsible for leading a dynamic department and contributing to the school's culture of academic excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will provide creative and effective leadership across the department, oversee curriculum delivery, and innovate in teaching, learning, and technology.
The Role
1. Provide visionary leadership and direction to the department, ensuring alignment with school goals and objectives.
2. Oversee the development and implementation of curriculum programs that meet the needs of students and align with NESA requirements.
3. Lead innovation in teaching, learning, and the use of technology, exploring new pedagogies and digital tools to enhance student outcomes.
4. Mentor and support staff in their professional growth, providing coaching and guidance to ensure they have the skills and confidence to succeed.
5. Monitor student achievement, engagement, and wellbeing, implementing targeted interventions where needed to drive improvement.
6. Ensure effective reporting, assessment, and curriculum compliance, maintaining high standards of quality and accountability.
7. Manage departmental resources, budget, and staffing allocations, optimizing performance and achieving desired outcomes.
8. Actively contribute to the wider life of the school community, fostering collaboration and partnerships that benefit students and staff.
About You
* Demonstrated expertise in TAS, ideally with HSC experience, and a strong understanding of curriculum design and delivery.
* Proven track record of leadership and management, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve excellence.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with students, staff, and families at all levels.
* Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development, with a passion for staying ahead of best practice in education.
