About the position:
This is an opportunity for a highly skilled and strategic technical Applications Specialist to join our Centre of Excellence (COE) in our Pacific Zone and play a key role in driving enablement and adoption of EcoStruxure Automation Expert (EAE).
This position will work closely with our sales teams and our EAE Pre-sales Engineer to develop applications for customers using EAE.
The Application Specialist will have deep technical expertise and a strong ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and business stakeholders.
This role is responsible for supporting country sales teams to win more business on EAE and supporting customers throughout their entire project development cycle using EAE.
This role requires someone comfortable traveling and presenting in front of clients and partners to support EAE adoption.
A vehicle will be provided for customer-related travel.
Key responsibilities:
Provide technical applications expertise and support to the sales team on automation and control system applications to help accelerate sales growth and increase opportunity conversion rates using EAE.
Act as the technical subject matter expert at the customer site to define and implement optimal automation and control applications using EAE.
Work with customers to identify technical requirements and constraints for EAE adoption and offer solutions supporting their project needs.
Explain and demonstrate the technical advantages and disadvantages of proposed applications using EAE.
Support co-engineering of applications for customers using EAE.
Lead the creation and development of innovative solutions for customer machines, projects, and applications using EAE.
Engineer and execute application and project conversions to EAE, including migrating from competitors.
Enhance Schneider Electric's application knowledge by creating and sharing guides, function blocks, white papers, and success stories.
Identify needs for new offers or functions to better meet application requirements and collaborate with relevant departments to develop these solutions.
About you:
You will be an industrial automation expert with strong ability to build optimized solution architectures based on broad technical knowledge, including hardware, software, and communication networks.
You have an in-depth understanding of the automation market and the ability to interconnect different generations of automation systems, integrating new technology into existing control systems.
You are self-motivated, driven, and possess a proven record of leveraging technical expertise to drive sales growth, with a must-win mindset.
Your tertiary qualification in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, IT programming, or Code development, along with 5 years of experience in automation solution development and programming, will support your ability to design systems for industrial applications.
While highly technical, you also have the commercial acumen to influence and win new business through technical teams.
Key skills and experience:
Ability to develop code and design system architectures for industrial applications.
Hands-on knowledge of industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, etc.).
Expertise in PLC programming, SCADA/DCS, and industrial networking.
Experience in designing and deploying large-scale automation solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and business audiences.
Background in Software Development or Delivery, with a focus on IT, is highly regarded.
Familiarity with IIOT, convergence of IT and OT, object-oriented programming, Windows/Linux development, Docker/Kubernetes, virtualization, C# programming, and networking protocols.
