About the role
This role draws upon their experience as a person with lived experience of mental illness, or as a carer of someone with mental illness, to design, develop, deliver, assess, and evaluate core skills training for the lived experience workforce, and the wider multidisciplinary mental health, alcohol and other drugs professional workforce across Queensland.
About you
- High level knowledge and skills in the discipline of Lived Experience (peer) support work and have a personal lived experience of mental health challenges, service use, periods of healing/personal recovery or experience of supporting someone through mental health challenges, service use, periods of healing/personal recovery.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a high functioning autonomous team, demonstrating initiative and independence whilst adhering closely to operational priorities and requirements.
- High level training and co-facilitation skills and experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating education and training programs utilising multiple learning modalities and techniques in line with adult learning principles.
- A proven track record in writing high quality training resources which are tailored to the audience's level of knowledge, skill and experience; and in collaborating and communicating effectively with all levels of staff and across disciplines within the organisation.
**Mandatory Requirements**:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to have a personal lived/living experience of mental health and/or substance use issues.
