Job Description
* Enable safe, compliant and consistent airport operations through high‐quality training and capability support.
* Design, coordinate and evaluate training solutions that strengthen operational performance and regulatory alignment.
* Partner with Airport Operations, Safety, Engineering and Ground Service Providers to ensure training frameworks support effective frontline delivery.
This role is being recruited as a full‐time secondment opportunity for 9 months (with potential extension subject to operational requirements and team movements). It can be flexible to a location within Jetstar network.
As an Airport Training Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high‐quality, compliant and operationally relevant training across Jetstar's airport network. This role has a strong focus on training administration, learning design support and systems management, with occasional facilitation and delivery supported by subject matter experts.
You will work closely with Airport Operations, Safety, Engineering and Ground Service Providers to ensure training materials, systems and processes support safe, consistent and effective airport operations. This role is well suited to candidates with general airline or aviation experience, strong written communication skills and the ability to learn quickly and adapt in a dynamic operational environment.
The Core Responsibilities Of This Role Will Be
* Deliver and support operational training across dynamic, multilingual environments, including live, remote and simulated airport and ramp settings.
* Coordinating and administering training activities, including scheduling, record‐keeping, LMS updates, reporting and stakeholder communication.
* Designing, reviewing and maintaining SOP‐aligned training materials, including lesson plans, assessments, job aids and operational communications.
* Translating complex operational procedures into clear, structured and accessible training content for diverse learner groups.
* Supporting theory, practical and observational assessments in line with regulatory and organisational requirements, with technical delivery supported by subject matter experts.
* Ensuring training content reflects best‐practice adult learning principles and remains current and operationally relevant.
* Monitoring training compliance, participating in audits and supporting corrective actions as required.
* Evaluating training effectiveness and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Working collaboratively with Airport Operations, Safety, Engineering and Ground Service Providers to ensure training supports safe, consistent and effective operations.
* Supporting operational requirements during peak periods, including adjusting training schedules as needed.
* Travelling domestically and internationally as required to support training delivery, port activations and stakeholder engagement.
To Be Considered, Key Skills Will Include
* Minimum of +2 years experience in airline or airport operations such as customer service, ramp operations or operational training.
* Confident facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver training in operational environments.
* Experience designing, reviewing or improving SOP‐aligned training materials and operational communications (highly desirable).
* Strong written communication skills and solid capability with Microsoft Office, operational systems and digital learning tools.
* Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring or capability development.
* Excellent organisational, time‐management and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Proven ability to translate complex operational procedures into clear, structured and actionable training content.
* Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), learning design or facilitation (desirable).
* Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent) (desirable).
* Flexibility to travel as required.
* A valid passport, full driver's licence and ongoing unrestricted Australian work rights.
* Eligibility to obtain and maintain an ASIC, including required background checks.
