We currently have the following positions available, commencing Term 1, 2026:

- 1 x 12 month fixed term, full-time position with possible extension and/or permanency
- 1 x 6 month fixed term, full-time position with possible extension and/or permanency

The Role

Safety Bay SHS is seeking to appoint two dedicated and suitably qualified educators to join our Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Pathways Career Team. These positions are offered at 0.6-1.0FTE and represent an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing area of strategic focus within the school. These position(s) offer an excellent opportunity for educators who are passionate about student success and eager to contribute to a collaborative and innovative school environment.

We aim to provide our students with unique and valuable learning opportunities that help them succeed both in school and in their future careers by embedding career development within learning areas that:

- Encourages student aspirations and achievements.
- Helps to connect current learning, work, and life opportunities.
- Supports students to make informed choices and take personal responsibility.
- Provides access to relevant and timely information and networks.

The successful applicant(s) will support the delivery of Career and Employability programs to senior school students, delivery of certificate qualifications, Pathways lessons for students in Years 7 and 8, and assist students in making informed decisions regarding their post-schooling options. These roles are central to the school’s Business Plan priorities, of embedding career development across learning areas, helping students to connect their education with meaningful future pathways.

The position(s) also support students in the Industry Links Pathway, that allows students to attend school three days per week while completing nationally recognised qualifications and participating in structured workplace learning aligned with their career interests.

You should, ideally, be able to display a strong commitment and capacity to:

- Plan, teach and deliver engaging lessons across both Lower and Senior School courses.
- Develop curriculum programs that promote inquiry, debate, and critical and creative thinking.
- Use and create high-quality learning materials and digital resources.
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress in line with policy and SCSA requirements.
- Engage in moderation, feedback, and professional collaboration with colleagues.
- Build positive relationships with students that foster respect, inclusion and achievement.

Candidates should also be confident in interpreting and using school and system-level data to inform practice, have a sound understanding of career pathway options, particularly within the local context, such as employment trends, training providers, and community agencies, is highly desirable.

While a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or the Enhanced Skill Set is highly regarded, applicants without this qualification are still encouraged to apply.

- hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.

- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
