About the Role:
As part of our continued growth and recent project awards, NRW Civil & Mining is seeking experienced Earthworks Supervisors to join our high-performing civil project delivery teams. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key leadership position, where you will be responsible for supervising earthworks crews, coordinating day-to-day site operations, and ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. One of our key projects is Rio Tinto's Brockman operations, located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
To be considered for this position as an Earthworks Supervisor you must possess the following as a minimum:
- Oversee the delivery of civil earthworks in line with project plans, safety standards, and daily production targets
- Extensive supervisory experience across bulk earthworks
- Experience in the operation of Caterpillar and Hitachi earth moving equipment
- A strong safety focused approach to delivering your work
- Ability to lead, develop and mentor own crew
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication skills with effective organisational skills
As an Earthworks Supervisor, you will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Manage and supervise the mobile plant earthworks employees and sub-contractors
- Supervise civil works as required
- Ensure safe productivity whilst meeting daily targets, including planning of work activities
- Delivery of daily pre-start and toolbox meetings
- Monitor quality and ensure the contractor meets their contractual quality obligations
- Identify and solve construction issues and communicate and resolve engineering issues with support staff
- Monitor progress of personnel and equipment requirements
- Confirm quantities and month end certificates
- Maintain a high level of safety standards at all times including leading by example to encourage safe work practices
- Provide coaching and development strategies
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and specifications and that client requirements are implemented
