We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Manager to lead and manage our dynamic team of designers and drafters. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with a strong background in design and construction documentation who thrives in a leadership position. You will oversee the development of working drawings, detailed documentation, and ensure all deliverables meet Australian Standards and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a team of designers and drafters in the production of detailed working drawings and design documentation.
* Ensure all designs comply with Australian Standards, the National Construction Code (NCC), and R-Codes of Western Australia .
* Develop and implement efficient design and drafting processes.
* Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and project stakeholders.
* Conduct quality control reviews of drawings and specifications.
* Mentor, guide, and support team members in their growth and development.
* Oversee project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
* Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients.
Skills & Experience
* Strong experience in working drawings and construction detailing .
* Proven experience managing design teams within architectural or construction settings.
* Excellent understanding of Australian Standards, NCC, and R-Codes (WA) .
* Proficiency in ArchiCAD ; additional design software skills are advantageous.
* Experience in both residential and commercial design projects is highly desirable.
* Experience with residential subdivision projects is ideal.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
* Ability to speak multiple languages is highly desirable.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and proactive approach to overcoming design challenges.
* Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines.
