Offer description

* Lead all Marketing, PR & Communications activities for this Visionary NFP
* Part-time role based in the Northern Beaches | Up to $130,000
* Make a genuine impact | Take their brand story to the next level

About my clientMy client is a small but mighty research based NFP that focuses on finding a cure for spinal cord injuries and they're determined to help make it happen. As a small but dedicated charity, they fund pioneering research, build collaborations across the scientific community, and give hope to those living with paralysis.

They're entering an exciting phase of growth, with their National Roadmap to a Cure currently in consultation — a key initiative that will shape the future of spinal research in Australia. To amplify their impact, they're looking for a creative, strategic and hands-on Marketing and Communications Lead to share their story, inspire support, and grow a community of changemakers who believe in a cure.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership position for a versatile and passionate communicator who thrives in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll lead all aspects of marketing and communications — from strategy to execution — helping to drive awareness, engagement, and fundraising success.

Key responsibilities include:

* Developing and delivering a clear, engaging communications and marketing strategy to raise the charity's profile nationally.
* Crafting compelling stories and content that highlight the impact of our research, our community, and our mission.
* Leading public communications for the National Roadmap to a Cure, including consultation engagement, launch activities, and stakeholder updates.
* Managing media relations and building strong partnerships with journalists, researchers, and community ambassadors.
* Growing our database of donors, supporters, and advocates through engaging campaigns and digital marketing.
* Overseeing our website, social media, and email marketing to ensure consistent, inspiring messaging across all channels.

About You

You're a confident storyteller and strategic thinker who's comfortable rolling up your sleeves to get things done. You combine creativity with strong organisational skills and care deeply about making a difference.

You'll bring:

* Proven experience in marketing, communications, or PR, ideally within a charity or purpose-led organisation.
* Excellent writing and content creation skills — you can turn complex ideas into clear, inspiring messages.
* Strong project management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
* Experience developing and delivering campaigns that drive engagement and support.
* A collaborative mindset and the confidence to lead communications initiatives independently.
* (Bonus) Knowledge or experience in health, medical research, or advocacy sectors.

Why Join Us?

* Work with a passionate team dedicated to accelerating a cure for spinal cord injury.
* Shape the voice and visibility of a growing national charity.
* Flexible, part-time working (3 days per week).
* Up to $130,000 salary annually (pro-rata to $78,000) + salary sacrificing
* Opportunity to make a tangible impact on people's lives.
