This position involves working in a supported learning environment to create opportunities for young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations. As a youth worker, you will support and lead effective learning and teaching programs for young people in secondary education.
 * Lead learning and teaching programs in middle and senior phases of secondary education.
 * Maintain physical health and emotional wellbeing of young people.
 * Develop and implement strategic plans to improve the role of youth workers in schools.
 * Foster a supportive and inclusive school environment.
 * Establish relationships with staff, students, families, industry and community organisations to plan and achieve outcomes.
 * Encourage young people to engage with external agencies through referral pathways and stakeholder meetings.
To excel in this role, you will need strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and negotiation skills. You should also have computing skills and the ability to develop skills in database management. Qualifications at degree, diploma or certificate level with social work or youth work experience are essential.
