Richmond Churches Food Centre will again this year hold a Christmas Day barbecue lunch for people who would like to join in and enjoy fellowship on Christmas Day. The event will be held in the community hall behind St Ignatius Parish and runs from 12pm until 3pm and it will include a barbecue lunch, conversation and connection. This event is a highlight of the Christmas Season for many of our clients who attend.
Volunteer shifts that are available:
* Preparing food on Tuesday 23rd December from 9am to 1pm (in Hawthorn)
* Decorating and preparing the hall on Tuesday 23rd December from 3pm to 5pm
* Helping to run the event on Christmas Day, preparing and serving food and drinks, engaging with those attending the event from 11am to 3pm
* Cleaning the hall and packing up after the event on Boxing Day from 11am to 1pm
We require volunteers for all shifts but the biggest number of volunteers are needed on Christmas Day, particularly in the afternoon.
To volunteer you must be over 18 and hold a valid Victorian Working With Children card. All volunteers are required to attend an online induction and planning meeting in the lead up to Christmas.
This volunteering event promises to offer satisfaction and joy. There will be a sense of fulfilment that comes from making a positive impact on the lives of others at Christmas and living the true Christmas spirit.
