The School
Port Hedland Primary School (PS) is a Level 5 school of choice in the Hedland area with an enrolment base of 490 students. Our families mainly encompass those employed in the mining industry and in professional positions in the region. Port Hedland PS is welcoming and supportive, with a strong induction process and mentoring program for all staff. The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Science Teacher who will promote an inclusive program across all year levels, Pre-School – Year 6, in our dedicated Science room. You will engage with the school community promoting Science and STEM across the school, work as part of a team within the school and have opportunities to moderate across the Hedland Schools network.
As this is a permanent position we are looking for someone who works well across all year levels, has good classroom management skills, and can inspire students with a passion for science. We seek applicants who are relationship-focused with strong interpersonal skills and who can work collaboratively in a team. The role includes delivering an engaging and differentiated Science curriculum aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum, catering to diverse abilities, and fostering an inclusive environment that supports students to reach their full potential using evidence-based teaching and differentiation strategies. A passion for science education and hands-on teaching is ideal. Knowledge of ICT integration and willingness to work in a team are valued, as is interest and experience in STEM areas.
