An exciting opportunity has arisen at Moore Street Surgery for an experienced Respiratory Specialist Nurse Practitioner to join our team for 6 months with a possible view to an extension following review of the pilot.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit an experienced Respiratory Specialist Nurse Practitioner, Band 7 or above. Considered applicants require to have a valid nursing qualification and registration with a relevant regulatory body and a minimum of 3 years experience in specialised respiratory medicine (mandatory). The successful candidate needs to be able to work as an autonomous practitioner and have advanced respiratory knowledge and excellent communication skills. In addition, the role requires supporting upskilling of the practice staff to raise standards of general care in COPD and asthma and to support QOF and LQC requirements. This post is a pilot project to enhance patient care and will be reviewed after 6 months with a view to extension. The post is a pilot project to enhance with the primary aim of addressing all aspects of patient management but particularly targeting a sub-group of patients deemed high risk with polypharmacy and/or recurrent admissions. The aim is to proactively educate patients and the clinical team at Moore Street alike. This post, as previously stated, can be undertaken alongside a current NHS post. Renumeration is dependent on experience but pay scale is £35-£40 per hour for 4-8 hours weekly.

Job responsibilities
We are looking to recruit an experienced Respiratory Specialist Practitioner to be involved in a pilot project to enhance patient care. This directed to addressing care in a sub-group of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or asthma, deemed high risk with the aim of optimising control and proactively being involved in education of patients and the clinical team at Moore Street alike.
