Strategy Manager, Retail Banking

As a Manager in the Retail Banking Strategy (RBS) team, you will work on high-impact projects that improve customer experience and business performance. You will collaborate with senior leaders and be supported by a team that values learning, diverse thinking and personal growth.
Where you'll focus: A hybrid role reporting directly to the RBS Strategy Lead (Executive Manager). You will contribute to RBS strategy and retail bank transformation, delivering improved customer outcomes. Responsibilities include identifying key opportunities and delivering recommendations that improve customer experience and optimise ways of working.
What you'll work on:
Work on projects typically ranging from 2–6 weeks with small, multidisciplinary teams under a Senior Manager.
Participate in insights generation to understand and reframe the problem, including stakeholder interviews, customer interviews and desk research.
Assess commercial opportunities through multiple lenses.
Synthesise insights into succinct findings via mixed media (reports, videos, journey maps, etc.).
Facilitate ideation sessions and workshops.
Develop prototypes and stimuli for testing and learning.
Craft hypotheses and success metrics to evaluate concepts during testing.
Create project deliverables including insight reports, delivery roadmaps and end-to-end strategies.
What you'll bring:
1–3 years of business strategy consulting experience at a major consulting firm or corporate in-house strategy function, with Financial Services exposure.
Strong financial acumen and a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Legal or a related field.
Attention to detail, ability to work effectively and address diverse problems with guidance from experienced leaders.
Curiosity, collaboration and a structured approach to solving problems.
Robust communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Interest in the Australian Retail Banking industry.
