Overview
The Senior Laboratory Technician is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the Faculty's science-based laboratories, ensuring they function as dynamic, well-resourced environments that enable high-quality teaching, learning and research. This role drives the effective coordination of laboratory activities, upholds robust laboratory standards and supports safe, engaging and contemporary scientific education across multiple campuses.

Responsibilities
Provide essential coordination of laboratory operations, ensuring scientific activities are efficiently organised and well supported across campuses.
Prepare and resource practical sessions, offer technical guidance to staff and students, and maintain accurate inventories.
Ensure adherence to equipment standards, construct specialised apparatus, apply safe laboratory practices, and contribute to continual improvements that enhance laboratory-based learning.
Maintain laboratory compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
Strong technical expertise in laboratory operations, including maintaining scientific equipment and preparing complex solutions.
Proficiency in applying rigorous safety and compliance practices.
Proven experience in supporting laboratory-based teaching, with well-developed analytical, organisational and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to manage resources effectively and apply emerging laboratory technologies to enhance learning environments.
