It's a chance to join a group of people dedicated to supporting Australia's evolving energy and convenience needs.
We're a leading retail, industrial and energy business, and we've been helping Australians reach their destination for more than 120 years.
Our plans for the future support Australia's energy transition to sustainable, lower-carbon energy solutions.
And our recent acquisitions of Coles Express and OTR provide Australians with outstanding convenience.
At the heart of our plans is people power.
People who want to grow and evolve with us.
People with new perspectives, energy and passion to drive Viva Energy and their careers forward.
About Viva Energy
Join a team that values diversity.
Viva Energy is a great place to be yourself.
We believe in our people, trust in their positive intentions, and empower everyone to amplify their voice across the business.
We value inclusion because that's how we get the best outcomes.
Awarded the WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality for the past five years highlights that we are driven by our people and continuing our focus on making Viva Energy reflect the ever-changing face of Australia.
We are now seeking an experienced Senior People & Culture Business Partner to play a pivotal role in shaping a high-performing, values-led culture that enables exceptional retail outcomes.
This role has one direct report.
Partnering closely with executive and line leaders, this role drives people, capability, and culture initiatives that directly support commercial objectives and long-term growth of functional areas of the OTR Group.
You'll be instrumental in building a future-ready workforce through best-practice talent acquisition, leadership development, workforce planning, and performance frameworks, while championing an outstanding employee experience across corporate teams.
A key focus of the role is fostering cultural consistency across geographically dispersed teams.
This includes embedding organisational values, strengthening communication, and equipping leaders to create inclusive, safe, and high-performing workplaces.
You'll also provide expert guidance on organisational design and change management, ensuring the business remains agile and responsive in a fast-moving retail environment.
Using data-driven insights and strong stakeholder partnerships, you'll help create a workplace where people thrive and where the organisation continues to build its competitive edge within the convenience sector.
Key Responsibilities
Strong understanding of people and culture processes, including talent management, employee engagement, and performance management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organisation.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage change in a dynamic environment.
Knowledge of employment law and regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Change Management: Support organisational change initiatives, providing guidance and support to leaders and employees throughout the process.
Talent Management: Oversee talent, development, and retention strategies to ensure the company attracts and retains top talent.
High Performance Culture: Manage employee engagement survey insights and action planning with leaders.
Build leadership capability aligned to company conduct and behaviours.
Support diversity and inclusion.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices.
P&C Metrics and Reporting: Monitor and analyse P&C metrics, providing regular reports to senior leadership on key people and culture indicators.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related degree.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a people and culture role, with at least 3 years in a similar position (size and scale).
We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and encourage and support diversity in our traditional and non-traditional roles.
Please note: This role is being sourced through Viva Energy Australia, therefore we will not be accepting applications via external recruitment agencies.
Only applications from candidates holding full working rights for employment in Australia will be considered.
