Senior Structural Engineer
WSP Darwin has a significant amount of defence projects and is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing team.
Key responsibilities
* Lead project work across the design, delivery and tender phases for multi-year/packaged turnkey projects.
* Ensure timely and quality delivery of project and structural engineering work in support of relevant technical, commercial and regulatory standards, aligned with schedules and budgets.
* Handle ongoing communication and maintain highly effective professional relationships with local clients.
* Manage stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally.
* Provide sound technical and delivery guidance for the team.
* Mentor, train and develop the careers of junior engineers.
* Partner with internal stakeholders and a national multidisciplinary engineering team.
Experience & Skills
* Bachelor to Masters level degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
* RPEQ qualified or close to completion.
* Minimum 8-12 years post-graduate industry experience.
* Commercial experience in Australian or New Zealand medium/large building structure engineering projects is essential.
* Eligibility to obtain Australian Defence full security clearance – only eligible to Australian Citizens.
* Exposure across local building sectors, e.g., transport, health, retail, defence.
* Familiar with ETABS, RAM Concept and Microstran.
* Solid consultancy experience in a client‑facing role with ability to lead projects.
* Track record of effective cross‑discipline project delivery.
* Experience coaching and mentoring junior engineers.
* Preference for candidates able to obtain Australian Defence Force security clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
