About this role The Ward Clerk provides essential administrative, reception, and coordination support to ensure efficient patient flow and effective communication across the ward. Working closely with the Clinical Manager, nursing staff, patients, and multiple hospital departments, the Ward Clerk plays a key role in maintaining exceptional patient care standards.
Hours
* Permanent Part-Time
* 0.4 FTE = 15 hours per week
* 2 days a week – Thursday & Friday
Key Responsibilities
* Provide reception and customer service support to patients, visitors, and staff.
* Coordinate patient admissions, discharges, transfers, and bed allocations.
* Maintain accurate patient information and update hospital systems promptly.
* Liaise with internal departments and external service providers to support ward operations.
* Manage medical records, equipment inventories, and consumable ordering.
* Assist with patient menus, follow‑up appointments, and general ward tasks.
* Uphold hospital policies, including WH&S, EEO, confidentiality, and infection control.
* Contribute to a positive team environment and assist with new staff orientation.
