Provides financial business partnership to the Research and Development function and other units within the organization.The OpportunityCochlear has an opportunity for a Manager - Finance Business Partnering - R&D, based in our corporate office in Macquarie, Sydney.
In this role, you'll work closely with the Director Business Partnering R&D to provide financial business partnership to the Research and Development business and other units within the organization.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with business stakeholders to execute strategic initiatives, enhance financial accountability, and improve financial acumen across the organization.Assist in setting financial targets, developing profitable financial plans, and conducting financial appraisals of strategic plans to support business objectives.Prepare and deliver accurate, compliant, and timely financial information, including monthly management accounts, forecasts, budgets, and statutory reports.Maintain an effective control environment by ensuring compliance with financial policies, conducting audits, and safeguarding data integrity.Drive process enhancements, including the use of technologies, to optimize financial operations and reporting capabilities.Monitor and adjust business priorities and costs in alignment with changes in funding capacity, ensuring efficient resource allocation.Interact confidently with a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior management, project managers, and subject matter experts, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.About YouTo add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:Required SkillsProfessional accounting qualifications or studying towards (eg - Chartered, CPA or CIMA)5-10 years commercial experience in a multinational organisationStrong financial and business analysis skills in complex operating environmentsSuccessful FP&A track record including budgeting/forecasts, management reports and analyticsWorking understanding of project accounting environmentDemonstrated experience in designing and implementing policy, procedures and process governanceStrong communication and presentation skillsConfident dealing with a range of stakeholders (SVP's, project managers, subject matter experts)Strong in Microsoft Excel, attention to detail and advanced financial modellingGood working knowledge of MS Powerpoint and WordExperience in Tier 1 systems including ERP (Oracle or similar), BI (Hyperion or similar)Desired SkillsExperience in medical device manufacturingExperience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principlesHow we recognise your contributionWe want Cochlear to be a place where our people truly enjoy coming to work.
