We are looking for a Software Test Engineer who has good experience in software testing and release management, and able to stand up a test/release management plan within a month of joining. Candidate will also be expected to work in a Scrum environment. Bridging Agile development with structured releases, coordinating testing, managing dependencies across teams, ensuring quality, and facilitating the smooth deployment of software by aligning sprint goals with release plans.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Design & Develop: Create new software or improve existing programs, often using various programming languages and tools. (Good to have)
* Test & Debug: Run tests to find and fix errors (bugs) to ensure software functions correctly. (Proficient Level)
* Maintain & Support: Update software, provide technical guidance, and troubleshoot issues after release. (Proficient Level)
* Collaborate: Work in teams with project managers, analysts, and designers. (Proficient Level)
* Document: Write technical and user-focused documentation. (Proficient Level)
* Ensure different software components and systems work together as one cohesive product.
* Stand up a Test Plan that focuses on "System Integration Testing" (SIT). They verify that the software interacts correctly with databases, external APIs, and legacy systems.
* Map out these dependencies of a software release and ensure that "Sprints" from multiple teams are merged, tested, and validated as a single release candidate.
Technical skills
* Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
* Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
* Understanding of software design principles and methodologies.
