About The Role
As
Manager, Line 1 Risk, Product
, you will play a critical role in supporting the business to deliver exceptional products and services while operating safely within BOQ Group's Risk Management Strategy and supporting standards.
You will partner closely with Product teams, Business Unit leaders and Group Risk (Line 2) to embed strong risk management practices across the division. This role is central to promoting a proactive risk culture, strengthening the control environment, and ensuring regulatory obligations are understood, managed and met.
Acting as a trusted risk advisor, you will provide pragmatic, solutions-focused advice that enables informed decision-making. You will lead the design and uplift of key controls, support change initiatives through robust risk-in-change assessments, and ensure risks, obligations and controls are accurately captured and managed in line with Group frameworks and standards.
You will also play a leadership role within Line 1 Risk, mentoring Risk Analysts and contributing to divisional risk governance, reporting and remediation activities.
Key to your success will be your ability to collaborate across the three lines of defence, engage confidently with senior stakeholders, and balance commercial outcomes with sound risk management.
About You
You are an experienced risk professional with a strong background in Line 1 Risk within financial services, ideally supporting product-led or complex operational environments. You bring a pragmatic mindset and are known for providing clear, actionable risk advice that enables the business rather than slows it down.
You have a deep understanding of non-financial risk and operating within a complex regulatory environment, and you're comfortable partnering with stakeholders across the business.
Your strengths lie in analysing complex processes, identifying root causes and control gaps, and designing practical, sustainable controls. You enjoy working at pace, supporting change initiatives, and helping teams understand and own their risk profile.
You are committed to developing others, providing coaching and guidance to Risk Analysts to uplift capability and embed best-practice risk management across the division.
