We're excited to welcome an Occupational Therapist-Senior, Rehabilitation.
The Senior Occupational Therapist (OT) in Rehabilitation works as a part of the OT team in a high functioning rehabilitation unit. The rehabilitation unit is a specialist physician led service including the following areas of clinical impairment: acute head injuries, multi-trauma, neurological conditions, neurodegenerative disease, amputations, musculoskeletal, and orthopaedic conditions.
Patients with complex post-operative surgical or medical issues requiring functional optimisation prior to discharge are also managed in the rehabilitation unit. The SCUH rehabilitation unit team specialises in services for working age or physically robust older patients capable of full participation in an inter-professional program. The unit provides a 24-hour, seven day a week service. The OT team provide specialist goal orientated physical and cognitive rehabilitation, including functional retraining, return to work programmes, complex home visiting, NDIS planning and complex discharge planning over a 6 day service including rotational Saturday rostered shifts.

Key Responsibilities include:
* Deliver independent high level Occupational Therapy clinical practice with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision. Exercise professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
* Provide high level clinical advice, education and influence towards a common patient-centred vision and direction to professional operational teams and relevant stakeholders regarding service delivery.
* Provide leadership oversight and clinical practice supervision to less experienced Occupational Therapy practitioners and students as delegated.
* Take a leadership role in the monitoring of professional clinical standards and outcomes, service improvement activities, Performance and Development Plans (PDP), quality activities, evidence-based practice, clinical research programs.
Remuneration value comprising salary between $4912.70-$5286.40 p.f. employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (HP4) (Fixed Term Temporary Full Time position for Six months 76 hrs p.f.).
