Job Impact
We are seeking experienced Security Officers to perform a high-profile role in safe-guarding Critical Infrastructure in South Eastern Melbourne. This is a critical frontline role where professionalism, vigilance and integrity are essential.
About the role
The security team in this location plays an important role in ensuring that the client's data integrity is always maintained. As the first point of contact for visitors and contractors entering the locations you will set the tone; delivering a professional and welcoming experience whilst upholding strict security protocols.
Job Location: South Eastern Melbourne
Contract: Full-Time
Pay Rate: SSIA Level 4
Shift Pattern: Ability to work rotating day and night shifts of 12 hours
Key responsibilities
* Screening visitors and equipment to and from the secure area.
* Provision of exemplary customer service, with some administrative tasks.
* Ensuring adherence to all site security procedures, policies and access control requirements.
* Identifying and preventing prohibited items from being introduced to or removed from secure areas.
* Issuing, monitoring and auditing visitor and contractor security passes in line with site protocols.
* Raising, updating and managing access requests using client security systems and software.
* Completing regular patrols of assigned areas and reporting hazards or incidents to the regional control room.
* Responding to, escalating and documenting incidents with clear, accurate written reports and daily activity logs.
* Communicating effectively via two-way radio and following command-and-control procedures.
* Maintaining a strong safety-first mindset and leading by example in compliance and professionalism.
About You
* Must have Security Licence, Classification 1A (Unarmed Guarding).
* Valid First Aid Certificate (3 years validity) with current CPR Certificate (1 year validity).
* Ability to clear an Australian Police Check.
* Lead by example – support a safety and compliance culture.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Conflict resolution and negotiation skills required.
* Strong multi-tasking abilities.
* Intermediate PC skills (MS Suite).
* Report writing and site patrol duties.
* Excellent observational skills.
* Experience communicating via two-way radio.
