If you are an experienced Instrumental Music Tutor - Brass keen to inspire young minds, ignite curiosity and a lifelong passion for music we would like to welcome you to Iona College in 2026.
This is a permanent time and part time flexibility considered.
You will deliver high-quality instrumental music tuition to students of varying ages and skill levels, focusing on brass instruments such as trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, euphonium and French horn at our purpose designed music facility and Performing Arts Centre.
You will guide and nurture musicality, technical and performance skills, through:
* Providing engaging and structured music lessons (individual and group)
* Conducting wind bands, jazz bands, or brass ensembles as required within the College ensemble program: organising and conducting ensembles for rehearsals and concerts
* Contributing to the Year 5 Music Immersion Program
* Administering brass studio materials and organisation: Sheet music, instrument registers and supplies, instrument maintenance and repairs
* Attending instrumental music department activities: Concerts, masses, music camps, and school events as required
* Communicating with parents, music staff, and other College staff to facilitate lesson activities and student attendance
* Maintaining accurate student records, roll lists, attendance registers, timetables, and reporting for student progress
* Contributing to the growth of the College instrumental music department and the wellbeing and development of its students
About You:
As a passionate musician and educator, you bring enthusiasm, professionalism and a commitment to student development. This includes:
* Relevant qualifications and/or experience in your musical field of expertise
* Demonstrated experience in music teaching or tutoring
* Proven ability to foster engaging, encouraging and inclusive lessons that support student growth and development
* Building positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents and our Iona College community
* Exemplary professional conduct
* Commitment to supporting the values of Catholic education
* Current paid Queensland Working with Children Blue Card or QCT registration
